Classification of lights on ships

The lights on ships are classified according to their purpose, which can be divided into:

(1) For navigation--lights, horns, horns, and bells and gongs used when anchoring in foggy navigation.

(2) For communication--communication signal lamp, daylight signal lamp and signal flag.

(3) Rescue use--smoke signal (red flame, white flame, orange lamp fog), acoustic signal (acoustic rocket, acoustic grenade), red parachute signal.

According to the nature of light, it can be divided into:

(1) Fixed light--masthead light, side light, tail light and all-round light, etc.

(2) Flashing lights--communication signal lights, yellow flashing lights for hovercraft and additional signal lights for purse seine fishing vessels.
