Generally, rubber fenders can be divided into two categories according to the structure: solid rubber fenders (non-floating type) and floating rubber fenders.
The solid rubber fender (non-floating type) is an anti-collision device for dock ships with an earlier application history and a wide range of applications. According to the force of the rubber fender, it can be divided into shear type, rotating type and compression type; according to the structure of the fender, solid rubber fenders can be divided into D type, cone, drum, sector, rectangle, and cylinder. Shaped fenders and so on.
Floating rubber fenders can float freely on the water. According to the different internal buffering media, they can be divided into: inflatable rubber fenders and filled rubber fenders.
Inflatable rubber fenders use compressed air as the medium and use compressed air to do work to consume collision energy.
Foam-filled fenders are also called solid polyurethane fenders. The cushioning medium inside is mainly closed-cell foam materials, such as foamed EVA, foamed polyurethane, and foamed rubber, etc.
