The galvanized steel wire rope has two types: electric galvanizing and hot dip galvanizing.

The electric galvanizing is obtained by means of external power supply and electrode position. The coating obtained is composed of fine pure zinc grains. The hot dip galvanizing of galvanized steel wire rope is formed by the physical thermal diffusion of the coating, the formation of iron and zinc compound, and the formation of pure zinc layer on the surface of iron and zinc compound successively. Theoretically, any thickness of zinc can be obtained by electro galvanizing. At present, the amount of zinc on the practical galvanizing can reach 1200g/m2.Usually, the amount of zinc on the electro galvanizing layer can also reach 750g/m2.But the highest value of zinc on hot dip galvanizing is 593g/m2.Hot dip galvanizing will reduce the mechanical properties of steel wire, requiring high strength and high corrosion resistance of galvanized steel wire rope, choose electric galvanized steel wire twist.
